Chemical Properties of Tandur Yellow Chemically, both limestone and marbles are siliceous calcium carbonate rocks.
Lime (CaO) – 38-42%
Silica (SiO2) – 20-25%
Alumina (Al2O3) – 2-4%
Other Oxides like Na, Mg – 1.5 to 2.5%
Loss On Ignition (LOI) – 30-32%
Tandoor yellow is a honey colored limestone with subtle texture. This hard wearing natural stone has soft edges and has been gently aged by tumbling process. Tandur Yellow limestone is rated for the durability and therefore is a preferred choice for commercial applications. It is also great for paving, wall cladding and various landscaping projects. Tandur Yellow is frost resistant and does not turn brown even after consistent exposure. Tandoor yellow stone comes in natural sawn, sandblasted brushed, honed and polished. The stones can be cut to size for any specific usage requirements. Limestone, like marble and other calcareous stones, are referred to as acid sensitive. Calcareous stones are readily dissolved in acid, therefore acidic products should not be used on limestone and marbles
